That’s How I Roll

randomkeith:

theblueangelstar replied to your photo: Meh - didn’t care for that mead - Tennessee sour…

Hardcore lol

Fact: You will never find me drinking things called “appletini”, “sex on the beach”, or “jello shooter”. If I want a cocktail I tend to go straight up or rocks (bourbon or tequila if I’m feeling stupid). If I want something a little more classic I’ll opt for a Manhattan, Old Fashioned, Whiskey Sour, or Mint Julep.

The exception is if I’m on tropical holiday - then I’d like something fruity, frozen, and cold going down - otherwise, I’m pretty much a whiskey guy.

ok. we need to get together. here’s why:

first of all, if its just straight up or on the rocks, it’s not technically a cocktail.  secondly, i have many twists on the old standards you listed (not to mention several you didn’t) that i’d love you to try.  hit me up when you’re ready to get serious.

seriously drunk, amirite??

i unapologetically say y’all.

randomkeith replied to your video: in case y’all forgot what awesome looks like.

I fully approve the use of “y’all”

i’m unapologetically from the south and anybody who doesn’t think i’m just charming, well…  bless their little hearts.

yes, the burbs are generally horrible.

randomkeith replied to your post: the key word here is “style”

Thanks for the heads up, I’ll see if I can get over the hill and to where the apparent good food exists. The burbs are pretty awful for food choices.

as long as we’re on the subject of good food, I might as well give you a heads up for barbecue.  There are lots of acceptable joints in the city for the various types of barbecue, but as far as I’m concerned russell st bbq is the only place in town that serves a legit pulled pork sandwich.  The pulled pork sandwich is the one item about which I am particularly sentimental and therefore finicky.  Russell street’s sandwich is not only the most authentic but also the most delicious one I’ve had in Portland.

I could go on about this forever but it’d probably be easier for you to read my Yelp reviews.

yep, from a couple places.  these are from sizzle pie, my favorite!
